Reliable sand, just grayer than the sample
Do a lot of small masonry repairs and paver patios around Bellevue and the Wood River Valley, and mason sand is what I go through fastest since it works for mortar and joint fill both. Ordered eight tons this spring split across four jobs, and it held up the same way every time, fine grained and easy to screed level under a paver base. Only flag is the color came in a shade grayer than the sample I was shown, which meant explaining to one client matching existing mortar joints. Workability makes up for it, and I haven't gone back to the big box sand since switching over.

Second Order Finished The Hot Tub Pad
We leveled a hot tub pad with mason sand this spring, going by the online calculator for how much to order. The load got us most of the way, but ran out half a ton short right at the last corner, so we called Idaho Rock Supply back for a second small order to finish it.
