Stone that grips on the grade
Our driveway climbs a steep grade up to the house above Cascade, and anything smooth just slides downhill in the snow. Eight tons of three quarter inch crushed stone locked together nicely once compacted, angular enough to grip under tires even with studs. Idaho Rock Supply's driver crept up the grade in low gear and dumped it in two spots so we could spread by hand on the steepest part.

Good stone, quote crept up
Our church out in Preston needed to fix a parking area that turns into a rutted mess every winter, and three quarter crushed stone was the right call for locking together under traffic.
